Personal Bio:

Fiona is a qualified Play Therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting children and young people across a wide range of settings. Throughout her career, she has worked with children of all ages in educational, community, healthcare, residential, and therapeutic environments. Fiona has extensive experience providing support both as part of multidisciplinary teams and through individual therapeutic work, helping children and families navigate a variety of emotional, developmental, and life challenges. Her approach is child-centred, compassionate, and evidence-based. Fiona is passionate about creating a safe and trusting therapeutic space where children can express themselves, process difficult experiences, develop resilience, and reach their full potential through the healing power of play.

Areas of Interest:

Over the years, Fiona has been privileged to work alongside many children and families, each with their own unique story. She is particularly passionate about supporting children who may be facing challenges that can feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to put into words.

Areas of special interest in include:

  • Working with children with visual impairments and adapting therapy to meet their individual needs
  • Helping children navigate family changes such as medical conditions, separation, divorce, and changes in family relationships
  • Supporting siblings of children with additional needs, disabilities, or medical conditions.

Fiona has a firm belief every child communicates in their own way and at their own pace. Through play, creativity, and a strong therapeutic relationship, she aims to help children feel understood, valued, and empowered as they work through life’s challenges and develop confidence in themselves and their abilities.
